Obama’s recent appointments have led to the conclusion that he intends to govern from the center. ++ His choices, however, are practical rather than ideological. ++ The centrist team will stabilize and pacify foreign policy and the economy so that Obama can focus on domestic transformation. ++ In fact, the recession will give him a carte-blanche to experiment with the economy. ++ Far from obstructing the domestic agenda, the crisis provides Obama with "the money, the mandate and the moxie" to begin transforming America.
