President Bush’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) never received the credit it deserves. ++ PEPFAR has been responsible for providing medication to 1.4 million AIDS patients primarily in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. ++ Internationally, there is concern that PEPFAR will not be carried on by Bush’s successor and given the lack of attention which it has received in the US, this does not seem unlikely.
