Balancing the Budget by Cutting Military Contractors
R. Greenwald and D. Crowe, The Guardian | September 16, 2011
In the face of possible budget cuts to America's defense budget, military contractors are launching a massive lobbying campaign to protect their revenue. ++ The top five military contractors earn most of their profits by through contracts with the US government. ++ Congress should prevent US tax dollars from going to independent military corporations that are left unaccountable to the US public. ++ Cutting funding to defense contractors should be a top priority in reducing total defense costs as part of America's deficit reduction efforts.
