Empty Rhetoric Hides Cracks in the Alliance

Few members at the Bucharest Summit acted to present the strongest military alliance in the world as "purposeful, tough and cohesive." ++ "The Atlantic Caucus" is left to shoulder the biggest burden in Afghanistan and fill the "Eurogap" left by partners who fail to take the Taliban insurgency seriously. ++ Now NATO also suffers from a credibility gap due to members' lack of resolve regarding expansion plans.
