NATO's Operation in Libya Must be Continued
Ranj Alaaldin, The Guardian | June 3, 2011
The failure of peace negotiations led by the South African president with Colonel Gaddafi coupled with regime’s further international isolation and the success of Libyan opposition give more credits to NATO’s military strategy. ++ The latter includes military assault on Gaddafi, cooperation with and work on behalf of Libyan opposition and “the encouragement of political and military defections”. ++ To avoid further casualties among the revolutionaries and the consolidation of Gaddafi’s power, NATO strategy in Libya should not be abandoned.
