Obama's Stimulus Plan: the Right Medicine

The response to an economic crisis which is very reminiscent of the Great Depression needs to reflect the urgency of the situation. ++ The stimulus plan now standing before Congress will bring the change hoped for because it is “more than a prescription for short-term spending -- it's a strategy for America's long-term growth and opportunity in areas such as renewable energy, health care and education.” ++ By accepting the plan America will show to the world and to itself “that in America, our destiny isn't written for us but by us.”
