Mr Obama must choose a strategy on the war with Afghanistan and persist with it, as delay and indecision will prove dangerous in the face of public opinion. ++ The latest excuse for delay, namely that a decision cannot be made without a legitimate partner in Kabul is "puzzling", as the administration did nothing to ensure that the vote was clean. ++ "Whatever the administration decides, it must get ends and means in alignment, explain itself clearly, and, for heaven's sake, make up its mind."
