US-China relationship is arguably the most important bilateral tie of our time and its benefits are increasingly recognized. ++ One of the advantages of the Olympic Games is that the attention it generates could create a better understanding of modern China and finally tear down the cold-war perception of the People’s Republic in the US. ++ Washington and Beijing must engage in a constructive dialogue on strategic matters such as trade, environment or energy. ++ Olympics are a chance to integrate China more fully into the global community.
