Russia's New Elite Increasingly Anti-American

There is “a disturbing trend” among those set to become “the new faces of Russia.” More and more students at Moscow’s elite universities wholeheartedly embrace conspiracy theories, such as George W. Bush being responsible for 9/11. ++ More Troubling for relations with the U.S. is the increasingly popular conviction that Washington wants to bring about Russia’s downfall. Some respected analysts even suspect its hand is behind the recent Metro bombings. ++ This trend will hinder any Kremlin modernization program.
