Russia Trusts Common Sense Will Finally Prevail

Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of Russia | September 16, 2008

If Russia is to believe that the anti-missile base in Poland will not be used against it, US and its allies have to stop making "cosmetic political gestures” and give concrete guarantees. ++ Statements about Kremlin’s imperialist policies are unfair; Russia has always sided with the weaker and, like always, its moral rightness is undisputed. ++ Moscow doesn’t fear isolation, as isolation of one of the centers of the rising multi-polar world is not possible. ++ It trusts commonsensical attitudes will prevail in international relations.
