Henry Kissinger, Former US Secretary of State | August 10, 2009
Bill Clinton’s trip to North Korea sets a dangerous precedent as the human factor overwhelms policy judgment. ++ The visit “enables Kim Jong Il to convey to North Koreans, and perhaps to other countries, that his country is being accepted into the international community”. ++ Although humanitarian aspect emphasized it is impossible to separate from political consequences. ++ This is just another part of North Korea’s effort to constantly diplomatically divert the US from security issues until the state becomes a de facto nuclear power.
