US Iran Policy Requires More Flexibility

Iran cannot be prevented from acquiring nuclear power capabilities. ++ The US should therefore favor negotiation with the regime over the current threats and sanctions driven policy which merely provides for hostile relations. ++ Since "a successful approach to Iran has to accommodate its security interests and ours," strategic deterrence should prove effective. ++ Additionally, cooperation could limit Iran's nuclear program to energy production, eventually stabilize the region, and increase the flow of Iranian energy resources to the world.
